The Make and Cake group meet every Thursday morning in the Church hall from 9.30 – 11.30am. The group is open to anyone and we have a wide range of people coming along to enjoy tea/coffee and homemade cake, with the focus on taking time out to make something creative.
Most weeks there is an activity demonstrated or laid out for people to join in if they choose, or alternatively people can bring along their own project to work on. So far our creative activities have included:
* Sewing – bunting, bags, cushion covers, etc
* Cake decorating
* Jewellery making with beads
* Crochet Christmas decorations
* Wire and bead work
* Chinese New Year stir-fry
* Landscape and still life drawing/painting
* Card making
* Flower arranging
It has been fantastic to see friendships developing and people sharing ideas and enjoying the warm and relaxed atmosphere together.
There is a crèche available for those with young children, so they can enjoy some peace to make and chat. If you would like to know more, please email Jola: Makeandcake@hotmail.co.uk.
